There are several breathtaking resorts in the Highlands
of Wayanad and Palakkad. They have either been built in
the middle of thick vegetation - such as
Jungle Park - and offer breathtaking views of
the valley below. Another resort in Wayanad is the
Rain Country Resort, which has been created in a
clearing in the forest using transplanted, traditional
Kerala style architecture. There are several other
resorts such as the
Royal Palm which has a unique herbal spa. Another unique resort is the
Tree Houses at Finster Hills, in Wayanad. Vythri Resort in Wayanad is perhaps the most popular
has a variety of exquisite cottages and is capable of hosting conferences. There are several quality resorts in Nelliampathy, Palakkad.

Most of the forest reserves in Kerala have wooden stilted accommodation that is used primarily by Forest Wardens as observation outposts. These are located at the best possible vantage points but offer minimal comforts.
The Kabini River Lodge is altogether different and offers an amazing experience.

The long coast line of Kerala has several Beach resorts set amidst swaying coconut palms with fine facilities in quiet locations. These resorts have mouth watering variety of sea food
specialties, and sometimes one can go for an early morning fishing expedition with the local fishermen. The long clean beaches are an ideal place to go for a swim or to just sit and watch the sun set, as of course, all beaches in Kerala are on the West Coast.

Two of the most famous addresses for the discerning tourists to Kerala, are the
Ayisha Manzil in Tellicherry (near Kannur) and Tranquil a Plantation Hideaway in Wayanad. Both these offer and outstanding experience and are run by people who believe in offering world class service without ever invading on the privacy of their guests. Ayisha Manzil is also very well known for imparting classes in genuine Malabari cooking to international visitors. Both, Tranquil and Ayisha Manzil have been praised by visitors from Europe and America and many of them return to savour the experience. It is therefore hardly surprising that both these properties are almost always fully booked!
A unique aspect of Kerala is that its geography is such that one can go from the highlands of Wayanad to the beaches on the West Coast in less than 2hours!
